Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Part-Time Retail Clerk to join our team at a local butcher store. As a Retail Clerk, you will play a key role in assisting customers, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products.
Provide knowledgeable answers to questions regarding cuts of meat, cooking methods, and meal preparation.
Offer suggestions and recommendations based on customer preferences.

Sales and Transactions:

Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately.
Package and weigh meat products for customers according to their specifications.
Upsell additional products or specials as appropriate.

Stocking and Merchandising:

Receive and stock inventory, ensuring shelves and displays are neatly organized.
Rotate products to maintain freshness and appeal.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to management.

Store Maintenance:

Ensure cleanliness and organization of the store, including counters, display cases, and customer areas.
Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures at all times.
Assist in maintaining equipment such as scales, knives, and refrigeration units.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve store goals.
Communicate effectively with management regarding customer feedback, operational issues, and ideas for improvement.
Support colleagues during busy periods or as needed.

Requirements:

Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge or interest in meat products and cuts is a plus.
Passion for locally raised meat and understanding of its benefits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Starting pay is $12 an hour - based on experience

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy weights (up to 50 pounds) occasionally.
Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Handle sharp knives and operate equipment safely.
